Q1 2021 France Film & Television App Insights

In the first quarter of 2021, the French market for Film & Television applications saw significant activity among the top contenders. Sensor Tower's comprehensive data offers insights into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Starting with Netflix, the streaming giant's revenue showed a fluctuating trend but remained strong, starting at around $296K in the last week of December and peaking at around $338K in the first week of January before settling at approximately $253K by the end of March. Downloads for Netflix began at roughly 170K and followed a downward trend, ending at about 70K. Weekly active users started at approximately 10M and dipped to around 9.4M by the quarter's end.

Disney+ experienced a revenue roller-coaster, initially at about $270K, spiking to $600K, and concluding the quarter at around $346K. Downloads saw a decline from 166K to 61K, while active users varied, reaching a high of around 3M in late February and closing the quarter near 2.5M.

Amazon Prime Video showed more modest figures, with revenue starting at nearly $45K and ending at approximately $53K. Downloads started at 141K, peaked at around 98K mid-quarter, and ended at about 77K. Active users hovered between 1.2M and 1.3M throughout the quarter.

SFR TV, which does not report revenue, had downloads that began at 16K, surged to 150K in early March, and then tapered off to 39K. Active users started at around 75K, peaked at 275K, and ended the period near 218K.

Lastly, Pluto TV: Watch & Stream Live, also with zero reported revenue, had a remarkable spike in downloads in early February, reaching nearly 230K, but ended March with around 22K. Active users peaked at around 198K in the same early February period before ending at approximately 54K.
